Lampard has been out of work since leaving his interim role with Chelsea at the end of the 2022-23 season. He's kept busy through various punditry roles, but is set to return to the touchline with Championship outfit Coventry.

According to the , the 46-year-old is in advanced talks with the struggling Sky Blues, who are just seven months removed from a magical run to the FA Cup semi-finals. It's been a turbulent ride since that agonising defeat to Manchester United, though, with Mark Robins losing his job on November 7 after winning just four of Coventry's first 14 Championship matches this season.

WHAT HAVE COVENTRY SAID?
The club's owner Doug King has faced criticism for his decision to sack the popular Robins, who also guided Coventry to the play-off final in 2022-23. But King has admitted he feared relegation to League One if he didn't act.
“I cannot have the risk of us getting relegated. Nobody thought Birmingham would get relegated – and they did. The next appointment is very important,” he said recently.
“You can argue that this was a big mistake [to sack Robins]. But I had to do something. And everybody will make their judgment clear.”
