ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Rolfo was a key player for Barcelona during her four seasons in Catalunya, helping the club to win 11 major honours in that time, including two Champions League titles. Now, though, she is set for a new chapter in England after signing a two-year contract with the Red Devils on Friday.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Rolfo's contract at Barca still had another year on it but both parties agreed a mutual termination earlier this summer, with the Spanish champions needing to make such decisions in order for the club to comply with financial regulations. United are set to benefit from that, with the 31-year-old to add incredible quality and winning experience to a team trying to bridge the gap to the elite in women's football.

DID YOU KNOW?
It would be a timely addition for the Red Devils, too, with their season to begin in just 12 days' time. Marc Skinner's side finished third in the Women's Super League last year, meaning they have to start in the first qualifying round of the Champions League, and they've been given a tricky draw. United take on PSV Eindhoven first, on August 27, with Hammarby, who reached the group stage last term, likely to await the winner three days' later.

WHAT NEXT FOR ROLFO AND MAN UTD?
If United can get Rolfo through the door in time to be part of those games, it would be a big boost to their chances of progressing to the Women's Champions League group stage for the first time. She is their second signing of the summer, following the arrival of fellow Sweden international Julia Zigiotti Olme from Bayern Munich.
