United were represented by Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot and manager Ruben Amorim; all compatriots of the late Diogo Jota, who passed away at the age of 28 on July 3. Fernandes and Dalot, both international teammates of Jota's, laid a wreath among the thousands of floral tributes which have been left outside Liverpool's stadium. Both players' return to pre-season training had been delayed in light of the tragedy.
